How come we have to say ‘cross-referenced’ instead of ‘referenced’? Don’t they mean exactly the same thing?
So now I have a nearly-complete blog, an online receptacle for whatever data I want to put there. How the hell did I get here? Well, I’ll tell you.
First I verified that my eMac (running OS X 10.2 on a 800 Mhz G4 chip with around 384 megs internal memory and hooked up to the outside world with Verizon DSL) could in fact, as promised, serve as a web server. In OS X this is really simple, just click a button in the System Preferences. I got my IP address from System Preferences also, and then …
It’s Amazon’s bestseller list…for Estonia. Top three:
1. Harry Potter’s new one.
2. Call of Cthulhu role-playing game.
3. Applied Cryptography
Well, that settles it. I am NEVER going to Estonia.
No offense to any young NSA wizards in service to the Estonian Elder Gods who happen to be reading this, of course.
We’re going to play a game. It’s called “Wawa.” I will explain the rules. You will read them.
The object of the game is to finish with as much Wawa as you possibly can.

It’s a good thing I don’t know what I’m doing. On Monday night, I helped my Honey Bunches of Oats recover her trashed iTunes Library, and while I was working on it, Software Update popped up and told me that Apple wanted me to install an update to 10.2.8. Now, when we went from .5 to .6, there were a number of problems, especially with the OS X Server update at work, which kept me late til about 9:30 trying all manner of trickery to coax it back into operationalitude. So the first thing I do now …
All my life I have been blessed with the company of stubborn and opinionated women. In fact, as incredible as this may seem, sometimes it even seems like, yes, ALL of the women in my life are stubborn and opinionated. What are the odds? Uncannily miniscule, no doubt. I must have clearly done something right in a previous life in order to have such a blessing in this one, a sent-from-Heaven grace that allows no failing, shortcoming, vice, cutting of corners, peccadillo (when I am in Texas of course), or mistake to go unnoticed or uncorrected.
I …
