big bad photoblogger

I’m not sure he’s ready for this, but I’ve added Nick’s newly restyled photoblog to ‘other weblogs’. We’ve been working on our blogs together, supporting and encouraging one another through the whole process from the beginning, and all the way through. I can’t imagine that mine would even exist if not for Nick, so be a pal and check that shit out.

Cookies!

I got the comment cookies to work! This is awesome-ness! I’m stoked! Now you won’t have to retype your personal info into the Comments sections every time you leave a comment, unless you want to, of course. You’re still free to reject my cookies, but, I mean, huh, come on, I mean like, why WOULD you?

These are my cookies we’re talking about.

With chunks of Valhrona the size of your fist.

The best part is that now I can start thinking about what kinds of customization options I can include, like adjustable font size, ’skins’, and other such …

Maybe we should consider “using the Internet” to be something that requires licensing by means of a nominal test, like citizenship or driving.

Maybe we could even go so far as to discuss the possibility of making “the Internet” a separate sovereignty, like a nation, or maybe corporation.

We just need a better way to deal with all the changes and problems the Internet has created and is creating. Governmental legislative bodies are too slow to act, and corporations are either also too slow, or else they’re just simply not as motivated by the interests of the public welfare as they …

what wendell said

I’ve read some Bill McKibben before: The Age of Missing Information was a great quick little read comparing a day spent in the wilderness to a day spent surfing a few hundred random cable stations. It wasn’t quite what I expected, and that was a good thing, because I expected a pretty superficial black-and-white treatment, you know, something along the lines of “Nature good, tv bad.” Instead, McKibben, then a new player among millennial ecollectuals, proved he might continue to have worthwhile things to think about, and interesting ways to say them.

So he’s got an article in …

Eureka! Black really is a color! Next thing you know, I’ll find that None really is a number. Yip yip yip.

Any more coherent in IE6, btw? I found mention on the web of something…that sounded…familiar.
And made some changes accordingly.

Found surfing late Saturday night:

An excellent example of how to effectively over-use subheads. A funny read that was linked to this past Friday on Magnetbox.

sometimes

sometimes
words are swarming magnets
in the hole of my imagination
a billion buzzingmesses of attraction, repulsion,
(and mostly)
outright constant collision.

the collisions are their own music.

when they stream like migratory
fluid there
in the hole of my imagination
first my body goes
then my head
then eyes
and mouth
and last
me.

and i become that black swarm of shadow
made substance made shadow, and
i am all the little shadows that give the light shape
i vie with the light
i let the light pass
and then
only light

only light

only light

then

some shadow

a little more shadow

words come back, pull me back
drag me back down from the firmament they
lifted me up to, clasp me,
divorce me, kiss me goodbye,
drop …

this will excite you to no end!

Refined the ‘web design + development’ side menu so that now there are two separate categories, ‘movable type’ and ‘primarily css’.
