Thanks be to John S. who encouraged me to put my computer on the home LAN’s router, and gave me some good tips to boot. Carved out some weblog time tonight. Lots of improvements to what I consider the infrastructure of this part of the site. Namely: prettified the archive pages (individual, category, and monthly, thank you very much), or at least made their layout more conform with the main index home page front door thingie. Hit a couple snags but by and large very happy with how easy MT makes it to make great big sweeping sitewide changes with its templating system.
