Slogan Fun

In case you blinked and missed it, the Bush camp had a tool online this month to allow visitors to georgewbush.com to create their own Bush/Cheney in ‘04 posters.

Well, needless to say, there was nothing to prevent the legions of Internet users who are, to put it delicately, less than enthusiastic about reinstating the monkey and his band of rob-from-the-poor-give-to-the-rich outlaws. When these culture-jammed pdfs started spreading like infectious laughter across the internet, the Republicans, who have no sense of humor as you well know, took down the tool.

But: now there’s a flash movie online that showcases some of …

the unconscious

There are two things that keep happening in my brain that appear to be completely beyond my conscious control.

The first is creativity. I was walking down the street just now when a creative solution to a months-old problem came to mind, without me even thinking of the problem. I was thinking about something else entirely, when suddenly, this news flash from the depths of my unconscious, as though some homunculus deep within my brain’s been working on this non-stop for months and finally came up with a solution and telegraphed it to me as soon as he had …

not much

As in: not much of an update, but here it is anyway.

Been on vacation from work for the past week, and I’ve made it my project (not that I actually had much choice) to try and identify what makes me tick. Cuz I’ve been kind of stuck behind not knowing for a while, and I’m noticing that you just can’t …. be or do much of anything at all if you don’t know what makes your own self tick.

So rather than try and figure out one big thing that makes me tick, a task that seems …

Dear Matthias,

If you want to write well because you want to have good product at the end, well, then, I’m sorry, sir, but you’re fucked. You do not write for Product. Or, at least, maybe you can, but it’s only Product to other people, but not to you. Because, by it’s very nature, if it is your Product, you cannot Consume it, and if you can’t consume something, you might as well not even consider it product, it isn’t Product to you in your particular life-world-time situation right now. Why can’t you Consume it? …

shame of a nation

According to poll results released yesterday, Unpresident Bush’s approval rating has dipped to its lower ever, with 57% of Americans wanting to see him replaced in November, and only 41% supporting him. Here’s a trend I think we’d all like to see continue.

One comment at Japan Today makes the optimistic observation: “57% of Yanks, and 98.9% of the rest of the world.” I hope that’s true, because it means that maybe Americans will come around and eventually see that maybe it isn’t so good to have a violent religious zealot in command of the world’s largest arsenal …
