Well here I am alone on New Years’ Eve.
Yuck, yuck, yuck.

2004’s nearly over, and for the first time since early spring I’m starting to see the possibility of free time in my near future. Early spring of this year was when I embarked upon the all-consuming task of co-planning our wedding, and as soon as that was over, I started looking for a new job, and as soon as THAT was over, it was time to think about the holidays. Now all that planning and stressing are done with, and I can’t see any major projects lined up in front of me. Other than the day to day …
Martha’s holiday letter from prison shattered my jaw when it hit the floor.
“Cleaning has been my job…(but) like everyone else here, I would rather be doing all of this in my own home…. P.S. I thought you might be interested in the brief my lawyers filed with the Court this afternoon.”

First week at the New Job is now over and I’m ready for more. Everyone here is great to work with, kind, helpful, friendly, knowledgeable. I’m learning the pleasures of talking shop. At my last job, I was the only one who had as much geekic knowledge as I did, so I didn’t get that much of a chance to talk about the stuff that occupies about 80% of my waking thoughts, and I think I’m just rediscovering the simple pleasure of conversation and friendship based on common interest. A side benefit to this is discovering …
Started my new job today, then met Gwen for a holiday party hosted by the owner of the restaurant she waitresses at, and now I’d love to tell you all about both wonderful things, but I am way way too tired. I can barely even type.
No, really!
I got the job! I start at MIT on Monday! Yay me!
