ipod goodness for you

Of course, you probably already knew you could put Yahoo Maps directions (and maps!) on your iPod, or the U.S. Constitution, but I bet you didn’t know can put the entireWikipedia on your iPod! If you’ve got a free gig or so, that is. Link goes to sourceforge page, with downloadable yumminess.

OH! And if you were thinking about one of those preposterously overpriced Apple-branded iPod armbands, you can fuggedabowdit. Get them here for a much easier-to-digest $5.99.

Shouts out to Heather P for directing the white-hot laser of my attention to this gem from Boston’s Craigslist. And it just so happens that I happen to know a certain wifely wifeness who’s got a BIRTHDAY coming up….

for the readers in florida

If you live in the great state of Florida and you ever have a complaint about how the police have treated you, well, it might be best if you kept it to yourself.

hurtling toward destruction

This blog is served up off my Mac at home, and lately there’ve been not one but TWO major problems with this arrangement, problems that are going to keep Thornography’s web presence sporadic at best. The first problem is that the server keeps spontaneously shutting down (and, YES, I’ve checked the Energy Saver settings and related hoo-ha), and the second is that our new router seems determined to not hang onto the same verizon pool IP address for longer than an hour.

podcast awesomeness

NPR : Podcast Directory has recently added some personal favorites: Wait, Wait Don’t Tell Me and On Point. Many are even subscribable via iTunes, too, I note.

Additional bonus podcast awesomeness: I just discovered something neat with iTunes podcasting sync feature, which I’ve only just started futzing around with. I was listening to a 1-hour show, and about 10 minutes into it I realized I had to actually get going out the door to run some errands. After hooking up the nano and syncing, I discovered that the same podcast was already cued up (on the …

nothin says lovin like nerve damage

I know the ladies.

I mean, I KNOW the ladies. However, I am out of the circulation. So I will bestow my great wisdoms upon you, in the form of failproof topics of discussion that will get the ladies out of the bar into the bed:

1. Nerve damage.
2. Demethylation of gene loci in D. melanogaster, a longitudinal double-blind study.
3. The Lincoln-Douglass debates.
4. Words that rhyme with dysmenorrhea.
5. The last time your bitch of an ex-wife called when Dennis was over and asked to talk to him and you put him on the phone and then five minutes …
