more death

On this day, ten years ago, ten days after her fiftieth birthday, my mother passed out of this life on a hospital bed in Lexington, KY, in a room overlooking the courtyard where Julie Brock and I used to share our lunch breaks the summer after my senior year.

The only thing that makes me sad about it is that it’s a reminder that I don’t miss her that much at all, that I never got to have a mother that I could love and have fond memories of.

we don’t support that

I was browsing our trouble ticket queue at work and came across this item in one case history:

Client would rather use Excel–she is not familiar with AppleWorks. We copied the file to the desktop and opened the file from within Excel. We were about to change how the data looked, when a bee started attacking the client. She had to hang up, but will call back.

If the name on record did not attest contrariwise, I’d SWEAR that was my wife.
