shouts quite belatedly out
I just wanted to say what a great time I had on my birthday and give special thanks to my generous friends who helped make it possible, Nadira + Mr. Nadira for driving, both of them plus one Jake for providing an awesome birthday dinner…with the absolute best calamari I think I may ever have. Seriously. If you’re ever in JP, stop by the Bella Luna and try it out. You will thank me.
Mad thanks also to MC Beefcake and his partner for schlepping all the way out to JP to help make the festive …

excitement does abound
Kodos & Kang discuss Operation Enduring Occupation. I love Kodos & Kang, I think they’re my favorite Simpson’s characters.
What Kate Winslet REALLY likes about Cameron Diaz.
Pretty much the best physical comedy I expect to see this year.
Regina Spektor is kind of cute…for a Brooklyn gal.
CLASSIC YOUTUBE FLASHBACK MOMENT for those lamers out there who haven’t seen it yet: the space camp song!!!

glancing blows
Jon Hodgman (the “I’m a PC” guy from the Apple commercials) has written a fascinating analytical history, in the New York Times Magazine no less, of the best drama on television right now, perhaps the best drama on television EVER, Battlestar Galactica. I’m not kidding. About any of it. [thanks, Nick!]
Jon Hodgman and I have something in common, it turns out. I’m also mildly pleased to learn he grew up in Brookline, and lived for a while in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Maybe he still is, who knows. It’s not like I’m stalking him …

beefcake!!!
One of the (many, many) (very good) reasons I haven’t been posting here so much is because I have been enhuge-enating myself at the gym with A. McDonnell, leaving me little time left over to appreciate and blog about the bloggier things in life. Just now came back from my first time back at the Fe after a semi-calculated week of rest. How awesome was it you ask? Well, I’ll tell you: very. freakin. awesome. I was tired and semi-expecting to have returned to pure popnfresh after a week off, but no, no, no. Across …

more kentucky excitement!
WKYT News has a report of a drive-by shooting of PS3 gamers lining up for first dibs at the Best Buy on Nicholasville Road (Lexington, KY). I wonder if anyone involved was anyone I knew, and, more, I wonder where there’s a Best Buy on N’ville Road? What’s it near? Anyone?

intergalactic makeout party TONIGHT!
Me and a few friends and bunch of strangers are going to celebrate my 35th b-day tonight at the Milky Way. Come party, come dance to my friend’s sister’s band. Even if I don’t know you, come and say hey. I’ll be the dork wearing the Afternoon Delight shirt.

Liveperson=evil
Yuck. Next time you’re doing online shopping, keep in mind that someone may be watching, and, worse, may interrupt you and ask you why you did that if you, say, abandon an order. Also disgusting: canned responses make it easy for “support” personnel to “help” multiple people at one time.

shapeshifters, listen up!
If you’re a user of the fabulous Mac GUI theme mod haxie “Shapeshifter”, please go right now and check out David Lanham’s Amora Theme. You’ll be glad you did. It’s delicate, detailed, unobtrusive, creative, and lovely, all at once. Note also the desktops and icons!

awwww….poor guy!
Standing proudly before his healthy, stable, traditional family, Rick “Santorum” Santorum nobly concedes defeat. I seriously never thought a photo of a crying child would make me laugh, but now I know MUCH better. I don’t know what it is, that pic just absolutely cracks me up!
